AKjeldsen is the sixth user who appeared in the user creation logs. He is probably one of the cabal members.
Self confessed God-botherer, AKjeldsen was perhaps an unusual figure amongst the atheists and agnostics who make up the majority of the population of RW. Although he used to be an active editor he usually took pains not to allow his own beliefs to intrude too much upon the rationalists. However, when he had a bad day, a streak of holy fire did sometimes show through.
Perhaps because of their differing points of view he was sometimes known to clash with SusanG, their most notable confrontation to date being the Kip the Dip Incident.
He is also the author of the (possibly defunct) Conservapedia column.
[edit] Lack of activity from start of 2009
During much of January AKjeldsen was involved in the debate about community standards. In this, he constantly argued for a more formalised system of accountability and decision making in RationalWiki. In the end he lost out on the debate and the mobocracy and HCM won the day. Since contributing to that debate this user has retired. One might speculate about reasons for his departure:
- He was irritated by the failure of the people on the site to understand his arguments in favor of structured voting.
- He has decided to take no part in the activities in order to see how anti-religious the site will become without his smooth guiding hand. (He implied once that he regarded himself more as an observer than a participant.)
- He is simply busy.
- He is not longer interested with the site.
