BlueSprite is a user who, in the course of an 11-day editing career at RationalWiki, managed to be demoted to sysop by Π as part of the Night of the Sysoping. According to Π, this was some sort of experiment with affirmative action aimed at increasing RationalWiki's "opinion diversty [sic]."[3]
He states on his user-page that his purpose for joining RationalWiki was to challenge the views of the liberals there with his own conservative/libertarian views.[4] He also states that he loves debate; in line with this, almost all of his edits were in debate spaces.
Some people found his views so far out as to think he was a parodist; his reply, denying this, was his last edit on RationalWiki.[5] The parody accusation also characterized BlueSprite as a "soulless Neocon," presumably due to BlueSprite's arguments supporting the Iraq War,[6] although in a debate on health care he stated that he believed in capitalism partly because it enforced certain moral ideas of his.[7]
