Elassint is an ex-sysop on RationalWiki. He left after losing an epic edit war over external links in the New World Order article. After repeatedly trying to remove the link in question, Elassint allegedly resorted to using multiple IP addresses and sockpuppets to incessantly edit the article. Elassint eventually left, apparently because the accusations of sockpuppetry and edit warring grew too heated for him.
Tmtoulouse originally sysoped him on Nov. 15, 2007, in order for him to help with categories.[2] After Elassint fled the wiki, Bob M desysoped him Dec. 23, 2007.[3]
After some time, Elassint returned to RationalWiki. He asked for his sysopship back, but was rebuffed and accused of abusing his sysop powers. The discussion quickly grew too heated for Elassint again, and he appeared to leave for good.

Contrary to many complaints, Elassint was never blocked maliciously. His first three (non-self-inflicted[4]) blocks were all joke blocks lasting for spans of 3 seconds, 1 second, and 31 seconds, respectively — hardly harassment. The first noteworthy block was from Human, who blocked him for 5 minutes for "vandalizing" the Main talk page on Dec. 7, 2007, which was a mistake block. He was blocked again for 1 hour on Dec. 28, 2007 and again for 2 hours on Jan. 2, 2008, both by PFoster for edit warring on New World Order. His last major block was by Human for one hour, on March 13, 2008.[4]
Elassint's last block was May 17, 2008, courtesy of Human and lasted only 31 seconds, allegedly for "Removing content from pages without discussion"[4].
