Human is one of the original cabalists and, one of the most (over?) productive RW members, and was the most prolific user by quite a long margin (he's averaged about 40 edits per day since joining). He once edited across a 16-hour swathe of the day (this may have something to do with the fact that he is self-employed). In terms of influence and status, he was the uncontested giant of RationalWiki (though Radioactive afikomen seemed to be trying to challenge him before RA's retirement). Then, in late 2010 and early 2011, his edits slowed to a crawl, and despite the Jimbo theory the wiki continued along its merry way.

He is usually polite and reasonable, though sometimes abrupt, and would probably be content just having fun on RW without being productive. He is also largely tolerant of religious people, even though he is firmly atheist. He has his moments, however, of ire and wrath. At these times he will attempt to "call it as he sees it", which unfortunately comes off as opinionated and arrogant to others.

Discerning users can observe his temper (or state of inebriation?) when he starts dropping "shit" and "fuck". This change in tone can catch the unprepared (i.e. everybody) off guard.

Human has been involved in a few conflicts on RationalWiki, particularly with Radioactive afikomen and Nx. He left the site for a few days in October 2008, following a bitter feud over whether the Spanish Inquisition constituted British comedy. In March 2009, he clashed with Radioactive afikomen again, and posted a rant to RA's talk-page^[1] following a botched realignment of a template^[2] and a comment about Human's debating style.^[3] He left the wiki again in November 2009 following a heated dispute with Nx over another template issue, stating that "NxWiki" was "authoritarian."^[4][5]

Human is the sole arbiter on "humor": if he thinks something's funny then it's hilarious; if he can't see the joke then it's reverted.^{[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14]}

Human is an unabashed smoker and drinker, and occasionally tosses around the odd reference to scotch. He hails from Wales, and his real name is distinctly Welsh.

The Don't Bite the Newbies Incident occured in October 2010, over a stretch of a number of days, after members of the RationalWiki community, chiefly Nx and Phantom Hoover, got upset with Human's conduct towards newbies, specifically his liberal use of "rollback"-without-explanation on non-vandal edits. The end result: HCM and nothing but bitching is accomplished. He returned using a sock called Asterisk for a while.

Human has frequently bypassed the community in making unilateral decisions, especially where user groups are concerned.^[16] He removed Pink's bureaucrat status without discussion, citing only being "tired of the personal attacks."^[17] He unilaterally decratted David Gerard, vaguely citing "abuse;"^[18] in this case, however, the community generally rebuked his actions, restoring Gerard to 'crat status.^[19] And he removed Blue's 'cratship after minimal discussion, much less warning to the parties involved.^[20] Pink and Blue, both prolific contributors, both left the wiki shortly after Human's actions.^[21][22]

More notable, perhaps, than Human's abuses are the willingness of other bureaucrats and RationalWikians in general to tolerate them. This tolerance, amongst other things, seems to have led up to the Trial of Human, which is (arguably) one of the worst HCM's in RationalWiki's history.
