Jtl is the second user who appeared in the user creation logs on Creation Day, and is one of the original cabal members.
An early contributor at CP, (joined March 2007) he made helpful edits, but ran afoul of TK, who first banned him from the IRC channel, then infinitely blocked him [2] for the (bogus) reason of being a sock of Icewedge. Jtl denied this both on his talk page and by email to ASchlafly. [3]

His most interesting intervention at Rationalwiki was de-sysoping HeartOfGold. According to a message on his talk page, jtl died in January 2010.[4]
Jtl was incredibly smart, extremely kind, caring and helpful. He was a genuinely nice guy with a good sense of humor. He will be remembered for all his wonderful qualities by everyone who knew him.
