| “ | 1. People who claim that "the unfettered market solves everything" are a pack of shysters who have risen to prominence due to their unique willingness to (a) tell the voters what they want to hear, and (b) do enough of what needs to be done that the economy stays out of "total shambles" territory.
2. The entire idea that "the market solves everything" rests on the ridiculous assumption that everything can be solved; a notion that has reared its head noticeably in only two places, religious delusions and socialism. 3. Most people branded "market fundamentalists" do not, in fact, believe that the market solves everything, but are instead guilty of believing that the market can solve even one thing. 4. Although governments ignore the laws of economics to their peril, a free market does not preclude a role for the State, which can be more effective in running certain economic sectors, such as health care. | ” |

ListenerX is a user who says that he has been an atheist, but is now an Onanist Odinist. He is, after RobS, the second most paranoid red-baiter on RationalWiki: he even thinks that "Jesus was a Red."[2] (try telling that to the American fundies).
He once wrote an essay, promoting Odinism and criticising atheism for being "less rational".[5] Some people have suggested he might be a parodist.[6] Given his edit count, his prestige, and the fact that he is now a board member, this is highly unlikely.
He is an enthusiastic creator of WIGO:CP entries.
He was sysoped by Π during the Night of the Sysoping, and, unlike a lot of his fellow demotion victims, he's stayed active since.
On August 3, 2009, he was bureaucratized[7] after a lot of deliberation in the Saloon Bar[8] where despite some criticism from fellow editors,[9] he received an overwhelming majority supporting him for 'crat.
He is also an overwhelmingly sensitive soul, taking great care to ensure that the present article portrays him in both the most accurate and most flattering light possible. We don't mind, as it means someone actually reads this site, he links here periodically as well.
ListenerX is also very interested in reforming the community standards as of late, and has written an essay about the qualities a moderator should have. [10]

[edit] Hiatus
In March of 2010 ListenerX was seemingly engulfed in work and went missing for around five months. As a scientist, we can only hope that he did not open a rift in to Hell.
[edit] Board
LX is secretary of the RationalWiki Foundation Board of Trustees. After board member Armondikov had resigned, LX became a member of the board.
[edit] Awards
The awards committee at RationalWikiWiki has awarded this user the Henry VIII Defender of the Faith Award.
