You are a police officer now. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 04:35, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Bureaucrat
Congrats on teh 'cratship! :D Couldn't think of a better person to have this. Refugee 17:02, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, though I wish it came under different circumstances. -- Nx talk 17:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Access
I don't think you need the access right if you're a bureaucrat.
21:20, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- I know, but in case I get decratted it'll allow me to plant a nasty surprise in MediaWiki:Common.js in revenge :P -- Nx/talk 21:24, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Now I can plan my power grab with no fear of revenge.
21:33, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- You can? <looks at user rights> still have access -- Nx/talk 21:37, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- I hope it was obvious that that was a joke.
21:44, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but it doesn't work unless you remove my access rights. -- Nx/talk 21:45, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

RA can't log in with it either. It looks like it got reset during the move, or because of my unsuccessful login attempts (even though I'm pretty sure I didn't mistype it). He said he would email Trent. -- Nx/talk 17:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Upgrade
Thanks for the upgrade! and I left a suggestion here if you'd like to take a look when you get a chance. Refugee 01:23, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- Nevermind about the suggestion, no need for it now. That was a lot of work you did with all those vandal users! :-) - Refugee 19:45, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Trolling
The trollish nonsense needs to stay off my page. Just like I removed that stuff from CUR's page. It's impossible that I must keep any slimy crap that anyone decided to put on my page. Fall down 20:11, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- It's not your page, it's the talk page of your page. The stuff on CUR's talk page was pure trolling, the stuff on your talk page is not. -- Nx/talk 20:27, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] new proprietorship
Ah, sorry to see you turning over your keys and leaving, and will miss you here, but I understand. It's been such a pain recently. I actually think giving it to CUR could be a good idea, he's got some time & energy to devote to something, why not here? Great job at RW on the techno stuff by the way. Refugee 07:53, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well, 4 months later, and so much for my "giving it to CUR" idea, lol. Big zero on that one. I wish you'd come back. I tried to reinstate all your abilities, access, police, etc, in protest of your removing them from yourself, but I guess I don't have those powers here, I couldn't find a way to do it. Refugee 03:14, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Nah, I knew it wouldn't work, and I feel slightly guilty for letting CUR loose. -- Nx / talk 05:33, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Cool HCM thing
Cool HCM thing.--False Flag 15:40, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Only problem is it means you have to decide exactly what level a conflict is... -- Nx / talk 15:43, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I see. Obvious really, but HCM is not always as clear as it might be. The HCM levels are really just joke things, they'd probably need to be firmed up a bit if we were going to be really scientific about it.
- Looking at it again the two lower HCM levels are reached all the time which would make "low drama" irrelevant. So - I'm not sure. What do you think? Or what does anybody think?--False Flag 16:05, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I was thinking low drama for 5-4 (there are a few low drama articles, especially those created by CUR who thought they qualified for high drama), medium for 3, and high for 2-1. Obviously HCM 6 and 5 wouldn't be used much. We could put the template on WIGO RW to indicate the current HCM level, but then again with the amount of updates that page gets... -- Nx / talk 16:11, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- That seems a good solution. If there were more activity here then the WIGO thing would be a good idea, but I rather fear that the different managements which have been in charge here have rather reduced the credibility of the place and that has reduced its interest to most users. Rebuilding that credibility would be a long job (and not one for which I am volunteering) and consequently the WIGO idea, while good, is probably best left on the back burner. But that's just my opinion.--False Flag 18:00, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] General discussion of the wiki
- Well, I'm partly to blame for that, letting CUR run amok and all that... -- Nx / talk 18:26, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Were you? I thought PH/HJ/RA was involved? I'm not always about. Must have missed your involvement.--False Flag 19:22, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Short summary of the events: Ra left PH and me in charge, as we were the most active people around the time he left. The RationalWiki upgrade and real life took up most of my time, so I was unable to contribute much. Then one day when some vandal and Fall down edit warred for a few hours while everyone at RW laughed at them and left the mess for me to clean up when I woke up next day (damn time zone differences!), I snapped (this was after a period when most of the activity on RWW was vandals and me fighting, and me promoting more and more people to help, who then vanished when the next vandal attack came), and after cleaning up the mess, demoted myself and left with the comment that the place is dead. CUR objected, saying that he cares about RWW, so I made him a crat. -- Nx / talk 19:34, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I see. May you live in interesting times. Well CUR has finally moved off, FD seems to have lost interest. Obviously what the place needs are some cynical, objective non-involved editors. But, let's be honest, are we really likely to find such people? I rather think not. Which leaves it to RW regulars and their socks to comment on themselves probably in furtherance of their own petty battles. And that won't really make interesting reading for the rest of the pack. Bit of a problem for the site really.--False Flag 20:28, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

- The problem is that if you want to bitch about RW you can do it at RW. Since we don't cut off access to our trolls there is little incentive to go elsewhere to air grievances. Tmtoulouse 05:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well, some people want their bitching immortalized forever as an official resource. 24.21.158.45 08:35, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

- (edit conflict: reply to tmtoulouse) Well, that's true, whatever needs to be said can be said at RW, but this is still a cool counter-culture type of wiki. I wouldn't like to see all the pages just go down the drain if someone pulls the plug, couldn't we have some way of preserving them, maybe on RW itself then? (I would contribute more often here myself, but real-life intrudes, as usual). Refugee 08:40, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- RWW is hosted on the RW server; RA has said in pmail he intends to keep the domain name registration paid-up. No worries there. humanbe in 02:13, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- And Trent has a good point - bitching about RW on RW is not censored or deleted. Maybe someone should point any bitchers/whiners to RWW with a template on RW as a recruitment tool? humanbe in 02:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Make it a kind of lightening rod for the CUR's and FD's of this world? Quite a good idea from the point of view of RW. Not so sure about its impact on RWW. Still, it would give the place a function.--Bob M 09:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I was not for one moment suggesting that the site should be flushed, I was only pointing out the problems of getting editors. But Tmtoulouse is quite correct when he says that you can say whatever you like about RW on-site. Human's idea has some merit, but somehow I wouldn't like to see that. Perhaps what the site really needs is a new mission. But I have no good alternative suggestions.--False Flag 15:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's good to see you around again, FF. When Radioactive afikomen (Hans Johnson) was here, he did a lot of work on the wiki, then Phantom Hoover and Nx, but recently there hasn't been much happening. I am also to blame, I haven't had the time to do much either. Refugee 18:49, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Refugee. I think the problem (well, one problem) is that it stopped being funny when RA and his subsequent incarnations used it mainly as a weapon in his feud with Human.--False Flag 20:00, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Good work, but...
How was my post in the creationism talk page trolling? Both Phantom Hoover and Human don't agree with that accusation (It was simply Jeeves being a hunourless fuckwit as per usual). 134.226.1.234 13:35, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- Repeating your tired old argument in a completely unrelated thread... though I don't think it's the horrible crime against humanity that Jeeves made it out to be, hence the OH NOES!! -- Nx / talk 13:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] wouldn't it be funny?
Wouldn't it be funny if you wrote an automated script (or some other technical-type of thinga-ma-jiggie) that would change the word every time someone wrote c*** (you can figure it out) and changed it to something like "honeypie" or "babe" or other term of endearment? A bit too much usage of that word recently for my liking. Oh well. Just an idea. :p Refugee 00:26, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- Agree with Refugee here; that would be fuckin' hilariously awesome. It does sound like something that a bot program is made out of, come to think of it. MNpunkboy 02:31, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- This would actually be hilarious, even though it's not much of a problem now. Would such a thing be done server-side or client-side? Eh Master Nx? Liveware Problem 05:51, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

The light from the monitor reflects off thin rimmed glasses and we hear the tap tap tapping of keys (on a Dvorak keyboard) processing commands into a 18 separate Linux terminals. Look at my user page AND MY USERNAME FOR CHRISSAKES -- my whole reason for coming here from RW was to continue longstanding debates/arguments/conversations that defined out little mutual hate society over at the big site. I knew him pretty damn well. -P-Foster.
- CUR's favorite cat species is the rusty-spotted cat. I don't know if the cat in the image is one, but it looks pretty damn close. It is therefore relevant. -- Nx / talk 03:51, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

- Mean spirited? Meh. The whole thing Trent said is still vaild, but a) that was when he was sole owner of this Wiki (not the Foundation) and b) that was in reference only to this place being used as a troll base from which to maliciously and verbally abuse RationalWikians. So perhaps the photo is "mean-spirited." SO be it. But is it an overty abusive verbal attack against CUR? Highly doubtful. Punky McPunkersen 13:05, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

- Is there a rule that says each comment must directly follow from the one preceding it? Ace McWicked 01:04, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's the cut the crap rule. You keep moving UHM's comment into a subsection with a denigrating title to piss him off. Please stop it. -- Nx / talk 01:19, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Could you fine upstanding gentlemen please cease bickering? TyrannisAn iron, yet caring fist 01:34, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not bickering. Ace is trolling. -- Nx / talk 01:36, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- So, yeah. What happened to my rights Nx? And YOU are moving my comment assknuckle. Ace McWicked 01:39, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Um Ace, Nx ain't a crat, take it up with Hans. TyrannisAn iron, yet caring fist 01:40, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- My block rights seem to have disappeared and Nx has no right to revery my talkpage comments. I have done nothing wrong - who is he to dictate the terms? Ace McWicked 01:41, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Hans took away your block rights because you were abusing them. I am not reverting your talkpage comments, I'm merely putting UHM's comment back where it belongs. -- Nx / talk 01:42, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- (EC) Ace, you haven't had block rights for weeks. And there really aren't any rules here except what we make up on the fly. TyrannisAn iron, yet caring fist 01:46, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Awards talkpage.
My comment went directly under RUR's, not at the bottom. There is no rule that says i cannot make a subsection and people have edited warred with me, not the other way round as my edit was perfectly legitimite. For those reasons you should quit edit warring and blocking me because it is you in the wrong here. Ace McWicked 01:02, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Comments
Firstly adding in brx clears the votes already cast and secondly it is a talkpage comment, not a mainspace article so please don't edit my comment. Ace McWicked 20:40, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- No, adding in brxbrx doesn't clear the votes already cast. You screwed up the syntax, idiot. Secondly, it's a vote, not a talkpage comment. -- Nx / talk 22:00, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- No, it is my talkpage comment as a vote suggestion. It is not mainspace, it is a comment. Please stop changing my comment. Ace McWicked 22:35, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- See that wasn't so hard to understand was it. Well done, you! Ace McWicked 22:46, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry about that
Sorry for the out-the-blue revert. Weird thing is, I don't even remember doing that. All I can think of is that I accidentally touched the "undo" link while checking in on my phone. Or maybe I was half asleep. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 21:59, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
